P&O Maritime Services Ireland manages Ireland’s marine research vessels ‘RV Celtic Explorer’ and ‘RV Celtic Voyager’

 

P&O Maritime Services Ireland wishes to appoint a Marine Technical Superintendent who will be responsible for managing the technical/engineering support for the two vessels to ensure smooth service delivery and fulfilment of research voyage objectives within preset standards and budgets.

 

Candidates will ideally have

 

Ø      A Class I Chief Engineer certificate of competency.

Ø      Knowledge of diesel electric machinery/propulsion.

Ø      Good project planning, costing, budgeting skills.

Ø      Experience with electronic planned maintenance systems.

Ø      CAD skills.

Ø      Good computer literacy.

Ø      Excellent communication and team management skills.

Ø      An understanding of Class (Lloyds Register) rules and requirements.

 

This position will be based in Galway and will be offered as a permanent contract.

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
